Myśl Polska: Poland’s elite frightens society with imminent Russia’s invasion

18.06.2021, Warsaw.

The Polish newspaper Myśl Polska published an article by journalist Jan Engelgard about anti-Russian hysteria in Poland on June 18.

The article reads that a significant part of the Polish establishment and analytical community is convinced of an imminent Russia’s attack on their country. This scenario of events “dreams” to the Polish elite at night, Engelgard wrote.

The journalist noted that the level of anti-Russian sentiment rises sharply as soon as there is “a prospect of some cautious reset” in relations between Russia and the United States. At such times, the Polish public becomes frightened of “Western treachery” and Russian invasion, the author wrote.

According to Engelgard, after the meeting between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, such sentiments have significantly increased. The Polish establishment began to accuse the US of stupid behavior and call the attempts to have a dialogue with Putin childish naivety, the author of the article wrote.
