South Ossetia’s KGB: Georgia violates our borders in an increasing manner

16.06.2021, Tskhinval.

The number of violations of the South Ossetian border by Georgian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) has increased, the press service of the State Security Committee (KGB) of South Ossetia reported on June 16.

According to the committee, UAVs are used by the Georgian side in order to organize visual reconnaissance of the border territory. The drones flew into the territory of the republic on May 18 and June 3.

The KGB noted that the Georgian security forces have attack UAVs in their arsenal, so such violations cause suspicion in Tskhinval. All this can provoke an escalation in the region.

The South Ossetian side is erecting barriers to prevent attempts to violate its borders by Georgia. The barriers cause discontent in Tbilisi: such constructions have always been painfully perceived in Georgia as “illegal demarcation of the borders.”
