Kurginyan: Chatham House is the main western anti-Russian think tank

22.05.2021, Moscow.

Chatham House, in the Soviet period and now, has been the main anti-Soviet and anti-Russian think tank in the West, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 17 on the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.

According to the political scientist, Chatham House was established as the main center to link the US and Europe in order to develop common strategies.

This intellectual center was created with the  contribution of “the brilliant historian and philosopher Toynbee, who was one of its leaders and intellectuals.” “This was a very high-level school. All the people I know who are involved in special studies have always said, ‘This is where everything begins,’” Kurginyan said.

Today, things have become slightly different, the political scientist noted. “This is an analytical option that has dramatically dropped its standards, which includes not only our Russian compatriots, but also many Ukrainians, who simply lobby certain things there. Therefore, whether or not the Chatham House of today and the Chatham House of the Toynbee period are the same is a question open for debate,” the expert explained.

Kurginyan noted that both in the Toynbee period and now this think tank has been the main anti-Russian center, “Anti-Soviet, anti-Russian, insisting that these are all monsters. That Russian and Soviet are the same thing,” the political scientist explained.
