It is not the borders between the national states but arrogance that prevents the unification in the world, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on May 21 at the New Knowledge Marathon.
“I might be old-fashioned. But humanity should not turn into one race. The fascists tried to turn humanity into one race by declaring genocide against the Jews and against all the peoples of the Soviet Union, we were destined for a very sad fate,” Lavrov said.
According to him, the diversity of cultures, languages and civilizations is a common global wealth. Combining all this into one would be a wrong decision.
He separately noted that for the unity of humanity there is no need to abandon their traditions, culture, history and roots. The unification of mankind is also not hindered by national borders.
“And what needs to be removed is not national boundaries. We need to remove arrogance in world affairs,” Lavrov concluded.
