Judging by the deteriorating military situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (LPR and LPR), Ukrainian authorities are still considering the option of resolving the conflict with Donbass by force, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said on the sidelines of the Central Asia Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
Rudenko said that Ukraine is toughening its position on Donbass and attempts to rewrite the Minsk agreements, that is “to actually change their order of priority.”
The diplomat said that “in general, the fact of the last escalation of the situation in Donbass observed last month suggests” that, apparently, the option of a forceful solution to the problem is still, so to speak, considered by the Ukrainian authorities.
