Kurginyan: Nothing human remains in the new capitalism

16.04.2021, Moscow.

Fascists wanted Man to become a beast, while communists wanted Man to develop and ascend, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan reminded on April 6 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.

Discussing what kind of life capitalism offers humanity after the coronavirus pandemic, Kurginyan noted that capitalism today has already been labeled as a “controlling” capitalism, or a capitalism of “surveillance.” He believes that nothing human remains in this sort of capitalism.

The political scientist reminded that capitalism has refused from the very beginning to develop Man, and it placed him in a strict legal framework instead. However, World War One showed that capitalist war of everyone against everyone will sooner or later lead humanity to a war of extermination. Humanity gave two polar answers to this crisis: communism and fascism.

Both communists and fascists strived to change Man. Fascism wanted Man to overcome the human inside him and become a beast, while communism wanted to release Man’s higher creative abilities for him to ascend, Sergey Kurginyan noted.

“…both communists and capitalists, the latter in their fascist version by then, or national socialists, dreamed about changing Man one way or another. ‘Human, all too human,’ Nietzsche said. Man is a beast, a blond beast, Hitler and Himmler said; they said that the human element was what had to be overcome,” Kurginyan reminded.

As for the social system, it was not important in and of itself, but as a means to ensure Man’s ascension for communism or his degradation for fascism.

“What was it all about? Property relations? No, about Man! What was it all about for communism? Property relations? No, about Man! Property relations and the economic system were supposed to ensure Man’s ascension ― or degradation. Man as a beast is a Man who degrades,” Kurginyan stressed.

The polar conflict between fascism and communism is reflected in the song “Sacred War”, “We are antagonists in everything like two poles: we fight for light and peace, and they fight for kingdom of darkness.”

“It was over when it was said that Man was supposed to remain as he was and be regulated while remaining evil. It ended then. This card was played back in 1918. After that, one side began to play the card of Man’s ascension to a new Man, and the other side began to play the card of Man as beast. And these two antagonistic poles clashed, as the song says,” Kurginyan said.

After communism was defeated, the world had to return to the type of capitalism that had shown its face during World War One, which now is leading the world to a total war of extermination.

“When they (communism and fascism) clashed, and one of them dropped out of the game, and then the other followed, a sort of a new capitalism appeared, which was ‘new as well forgotten old’. The world took the path of imperialistic development, i.e. uneven development,” Kurginyan stressed.
