Kurginyan: Putin is not a man of money, but a man of power

29.12.2020, Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is a man of power, not a man of money, said the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan in an interview to journalist Vladimir Solovyov on the Solovyov Live YouTube channel on December 24.

The political scientist noted that he observed oligarchs who would become ecstatic at the sight of an expensive car. The Russian president is not such type of a person, “he is not a man of money, he is a man of power” in the raw, direct sense of the word.

“Figuratively speaking, he absolutely does not want to compete with some Russian billionaire like Roman Abramovich as to who has more gold in his Rolls-Royce. Again, figuratively speaking, he wants to see Abramovich’s face to the ground while his motorcade is passing by. He has a completely different view of life. Therefore, all these endless fairy tales about the scale of personal enrichment … It seems to me that you have to not understand a person to a tremendous degree in order not to see where there is a man of money, as opposed a man of power …”, explained Kurginyan.

However, he does not mean to say that Putin is an idealist or an angel with wings. Putin is a person who quite simply understands the problem of domination. In this regard, one begs the question:“Who needs all these endless stories about enrichment and everything else? Theyareclearlyfalse,” stressed the political scientist.

Putin is a person who firmly believes in pragmatism. He is the man of social, political, and situational maneuvering, believes the political scientist and philosopher.
