30.11.2020, Tehran.

Iran will double its nuclear research budget in response to the assassination of nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, said Iranian Defense Minister Amir Khatami on November 30, reports Mehr News Agency in Iran.

Iran’s Ministry of Defense’s Research and Innovation Organization which was headed by Fakhrizadeh will double its budget. “Following the path laid by Fakhrizadeh, we decided to double the budget at the meeting of the Iranian cabinet ministers,” said Khatami.

Earlier, Iranian media reported that the Iranian authorities may restrict foreign inspectors’ access to the country’s nuclear facilities due to Fakhrizadeh’s assassination. This may take place because “the IAEA inspectors’ wide access may pose a serious threat to Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities.”

In the meantime, Iran’s public opinion links the Israeli Special Forces to organizing this assassination.
