Kurginyan: Erdoğan is trying on the roles of Suleiman the Magnificent and Attila

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is trying on the roles of great rulers from Turkic history, but it looks unnatural, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on November 2 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on Russia One channel.

“He is, of course, a passionate and convincing man, this is not Zelensky, but he is still being quite theatrical. Considerably so,” Kurginyan said.

“Turkey was Turkey for real in the era of Suleiman the Magnificent. There is nothing left from the times of Suleiman the Magnificent, or Genghis Khan, or Attila, it is something else. It is already a society of the spectacle, in which a person wants to have something to do with the brand of Attila, just a little, to have a little bit of Europe, and so on and so forth,” the Essence of Time movement leader emphasized.

Kurginyan explained that the West has commissioned Turkey to unite radical Islamist structures around itself. As a result, Turkey needs to challenge the West’s two geopolitical rivals – China and Russia. To do so, Ankara is using its influence in the Islamic and Turkic worlds.

Suleiman the Magnificent was a ruler of the Ottoman Empire, to which the heir is modern Turkey. In the 16th century, the territory of the Ottoman Empire under this ruler reached a significant size and included not only the territories of modern Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Libya and Egypt, but also a significant part of Eastern Europe, up to Hungary.

Suleiman the Magnificent, Attila, and Genghis Khan were great leaders and commanders of Turkic origin. In commemorating these military leaders, Turkey signals to all the other Turkic peoples of their former greatness, which can still be restored if they unite in an empire.
