Azerbaijan strikes against Shushi town in Nagorno-Karabakh

Azerbaijani armed forces stroke against Shushi town in Nagorno-Karabakh in the morning of October 28, the Artsakh State Service for Emergency Situations informs.

According to the State Service, there were no casualties as a result of the Azerbaijani attack. The State Service notes that Martuni city and Askeran village were shelled in the evening of October 27. The State Service also noted that no fire was opened on villages and towns at night.

The Nagorno-Karabakh State Service for Emergency Situations also stated that the situation at the contact line of contact was tense. The agency stressed that the operational situation in the gorge near Averaranots village remains difficult.

Later, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry also confirmed the information about the attack on Shushi. According to Shushan Stepanyan, the Ministry’s press secretary, Azerbaijan continues to strike against the village using Smerch multiple launch rocket systems. According to her, one civilian died as a result of the strike, and two more were wounded.

Earlier, the Artsakh Defense Army stated that separate local combats were underway at a number of sectors of the front. At the same time, Nagorno-Karabakh claims that the army controls the operational and tactical situation on the line of contact.
