The Ukrainian army violated the ceasefire along the contact line in the Donetsk People’s Republic twice over the past 24 hours, the DPR representative at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire (JCCC) reported on September 30.
According to the representative, on September 29 observers reported three violations by the Ukrainian army in the villages of Shumy, Peski, and Vonyanoye. The violations included two incidents of shelling and one incident of building a new fortification.
At 7:40 am (Moscow time zone) the Ukrainian servicemen from the 35th Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy deployed in the village of Shumy opened fire against the settlement of the 6/7 Mine in Gorlovka firing two grenades from an RGP-7 grenade launcher. At 4:45 pm (Moscow time zone) the village of Leninskoye was shelled with 3 shells from an 82-mm mortar and one grenade from a GP-25 grenade launcher used by the servicemen of the 36th Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy from positions near the village of Vodyanoye.
Also, the observers saw soldiers of the 36th Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy at 12:30 at the Ukrainian positions near the village of Peski who used the ceasefire to build a new fortification in the neutral zone.
On September 29, a session of the Trilateral Contact Group took place in the video conference format. According to the DPR Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian side blocked the work of the Contact Group. Ukraine refused to follow the previously agreed supplementary measures for ceasefire control.
Also, the implementation of the Minsk agreements was blocked by a Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) decree about local elections. The parliament members added a provision that the border with Russia has to be taken under Ukrainian border guard control, which violates the agreement.
The JCCC observers reported one incident of shelling of the village of Spartak from Avdeevka on September 28. The servicemen of the 54th Brigade of the Ukrainian army used slam arms against the village.
