Kurginyan: The West wants to create a global conflict from a miniscule incident

28.09.2020, Moscow.

Focusing on minor figures like Navalny and Tikhanovskaya is indicative of the West’s intention to create a global conflict at any cost, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on September 27 on the air of the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.

According to Kurginyan, the West had distant aims in view when it started to “hastily, from scratch” escalate the fuss about such minor political figures like Russian opposition activist Aleksey Navalny and Belarusian former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.

“How urgent does their need have to be for something, if they are creating such massive scandals as the ones that are developing now? How desperately do they need something to change, if they are eager to use the most miniscule excuses?” the political scientist noted.

The expert believes that this is reminiscent of the world before World War One, when a minor incident set off a global conflict, which the global powers urgently needed to resolve the accumulated contradictions.

“They are asking me, ‘What does it all have in common with World War One? Where is Ferdinand who should be getting on his way to Sarajevo, as we know from a joke? Where is that Ferdinand? But isn’t Navalny a Ferdinand?’” Kurginyan wonders.

The political scientist added that a deliberate fabrication of a reason for a conflict is taking place around Tikhanovskaya as well.

“What do they need in Belarus so much, where everything could well have been allowed to fade away? But no, they desperately need to make a figure capable of initiating a global conflict out of a woman who is clearly no Joan of Arc. How necessary is this global conflict everywhere! How desperately they need it…” Kurginyan stresses.
