Ukrainian military shell Lugansk Republic twice over 24 hours

Units of the Ukrainian army violated twice the ceasefire at the contact line in the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, the LPR representative at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire said on September 22.

According to the statement, on September 21 the observers reported two violations of ceasefire. At 6:15 am (Moscow time zone) the village of Kalinovo was shelled using an RPG-7 grenade launcher; the servicemen of the 1st battalion of the 24th Brigade of the Ukrainian army launched one grenade towards the Luganskoye village.

At 4:50 pm (Moscow time zone) the Ukrainian military used a quadrotor to drop one VOG-17 grenade on the positions of the People’s Militia in the Kalinovo-Borshchevatoye village. The drone was launched by the servicemen of the 2nd battalion of the 30th Brigade of the Ukrainian army from their positions near the Popasnaya village.

The ceasefire maintained from September 13, when the Ukrainian army shelled the village of Zhelobok using AGS-17 firing three grenades. Also, demolition of mine barrage and engineering works were reported at the Ukrainian army’s positions.

On September 11, the Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Andrey Ermak after talks of the advisors to the Normandy Four leaders said that Ukraine would observe the ceasefire along the contact line in Donbass.
