21.09.2020, Donetsk.

The Ukrainian army’s units violated ceasefire on the contact line the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the DPR representative at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire (JCCC) informed on September 21.

The statement reads that on September 21, at 5.35 a.m. (MSK), the Ukrainian military fired two AGS-17 grenades on the village of Zaichenko in the south of the republic; the fire came from a stronghold near the village of Vodyanoye, where the military battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy was stationed.

There is no information about victims or infrastructure damage.

On September 20, observers registered a previous violation of ceasefire: the Ukrainian troops stationed near the village of Peski opened fire on the Veseloe village in the suburbs of Donetsk using small arms.

The observers also found new fortifications in the Avdeevka area, where units of the 54th Brigade were stationed.

On September 10, the Ukrainian side hampered a joint inspection of new fortifications near Shumy village, which was agreed at an extraordinary meeting of the contact group on September 9.

The DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that at the video conference of contact group on September 16, the Ukrainian side completely refused to implement additional measures to control the ceasefire. The reason for this refusal is the unwillingness to contact the representatives of the republics at the JCCC.

On September 11, at the meeting of the “Normandy format” advisers to the heads of states, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Yermak confirmed the maintenance of ceasefire in Donbass by Ukrainian militaries.
