The intensification in aggression by left-wing radicals is alarming, said Patricia Vernold, spokeswoman for the Saxon Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany, on September 7, according to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa).
The riots in Leipzig showed how quickly left-wing anarchists are able to mobilize their supporters. “Within three days, left-wing anarchists were able to mobilize several hundred people, every evening for three days without much preparation,” Vernold said.
It alarms that “the strategy of left-wing extremists includes not only the practice of damaging property, but also the harm to innocent outsiders.“
To be noted that on Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week in Leipzig there were riots inside the city. Many hundreds of people went outside to the streets, threw stones at police, destroyed public property. The reason for the protests was the vacating by the police of an illegally occupied empty building inside the city.
