NATO builds up military presence near Belarusian border — Defense Ministry

The NATO states have increased the concentration of their troops at the western Belarusian border, the Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Belarusian Army Ruslan Kosygin said on August 30, ONT reports.

According to the Chief of the Main Directorate, the neighbor NATO countries have built up their military potential, and they have prepared major sites for the deployment of more alliance forces. Ten thousand servicemen, 40 combat aircraft, and 500 pieces of heavy military equipment have been deployed in the neighbor countries.

The President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about increased reinforcement of the activity of NATO units near the Republic’s borders, and he placed the Republic’s army in operational readiness.

NATO command denies any accusations from the Belarusian authorities, claiming it does not deploy any troops at the Belarusian border.
