Russia pays to ensure its interests in allied countries, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on August 23 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program.
According to Kurginyan, currently there is no sense in discussing a strategic goal regarding Belarus. Besides, even if a discussion of a union state takes place, it should not be a conversation with Aleksandr Lukashenko in the spirit of “take this charity in the agricultural sector from us,” but we should unite with Belarus in a way that would completely satisfy Minsk.
Any statements that we are “feeding” someone are wrong, Kurginyan believes.
“If we talk like this, our involution will not stop with the Russian Federation, but will continue to shrink. We are not feeding anyone, but we are defending Russia’s national interests in the union state. Yes, we pay for things to be the way we need. Unfortunately, we do not do it as much and as brilliantly as we should,” the political scientist stressed.
Previously, Kurginyan criticized the Russian establishment for its “suicidal” position as it ignores pro-Russian forces in the neighboring states. He believes that Moscow’s destructive expectation is that pro-Russian activists will remain loyal in any event, while Russia should approach and appease its opponents.
Belarus, Poland, and Lithuania share a common past, which can play a serious role if Warsaw can reach an agreement with Vilnius, the political scientist believes. Thus, taking into account the aggressive intentions of Poland and Lithuania, Belarus is currently in a geopolitical transition.
