Italian Senator calls for a halt to the sale of Mussolini masks

12.05.2020, Verona.

Protective masks depicting fascist leader Benito Mussolini should be banned, Italian Senator Vincenzo D’Arienzo wrote on his page on Facebook on May 8.

During the coronavirus pandemic, an Italian company began selling masks with the Mussolini’s image printed on them. They can be bought in the city of Verona. “Among the many unpleasant things that can happen during a pandemic, the most disgusting is the sale of masks for personal protection with the image of a fascist leader,” says D’Arienzo.

On the one hand, there is an emergency situation and the need to protect human life, and on the other hand, there is a search for profit using political propaganda with the “murderer”, who previously spread the “racial virus” in the country and intolerance towards other nations (referring to fascism – Rossa Primavera News Agency), says the politician.

“This is a huge dose of ignorance that Verona could do without, and I hope that those who stain her name will be called to account for this,” D’Arienzo writes.

The Italian Senator calls on civil and democratic society not to allow the people to be plunged into the past, in that historical period when the murderer was not a virus, but a fascist, printed on masks. “Those who sell these masks praise fascism and to speak out in its defense,” says the senator.

Mussolini during World War II was a leader of fascist Italy. “Duce” (the leader) was one of the founders of Italian fascism.
