US military began to fortify and expand a military base in the eastern Deir Ez-Zor province, a Rossa Primavera News Agency source in Syria informed on April 29.
According to the source, the base is built in the al-Omar oil field. It comprises a camp for US military, a runaway, and a large prison. Construction of military airport near the base is also planned.
“The al-Omar oil field in the eastern Deir Ez-Zor province became a special US military base, and this base will become the largest in Syria,” the communication reads.
Al-Omar is the largest oil field east of the Euphrates.
