Political scientist: Ukrainian authorities benefit from the COVID-19 epidemic causing fear

19.03.2020, Moscow.

The outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Ukraine is a convenient way for the Ukrainian authorities to write off all their sins, political scientist and TV host Dmitry Kulikov said on the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia-1 TV channel on March 15.

“The epidemic has to be terrible in Ukraine! Because if it is not terrible, it will not be possible to write off all the sins,” Kulikov said. “The more panic there is, which is not related to the activities of Zelensky himself…, the better. If [Ukraine – translator’s note] is in default, it is good. We’ll bury it all under it. When you’ve done your job, cover it with sand.”

The political scientist recalled the words of Zelensky, who had called for all Ukrainian citizens to return from abroad, including those left in search of money. In his opinion, the authorities will specifically “drive” Ukrainians to return.

According to Kulikov, the words of Ukrainian Minister of Health about the death of all pensioners from the COVID-19 epidemic are also not accidental, and they are a deliberate effort to spread panic.

“And the more pensioners under this plan will suffer from this epidemic, the better. Because it is necessary to give big numbers on how Ukraine is suffering. Why is it suffering? Because a war is still going on! It is easier for Italians, they have no war,” the political scientist explained. “And since we have both the war and the coronavirus, we have a 10% mortality rate, not 2%. That’s the whole scheme they are working with.”
