Russian Foreign Ministry explains why “witnesses” were suddenly found in the MH17 case

An anti-Russian campaign has begun to gather momentum ahead of the Hague Court hearing in the case of a Malaysian plane’s crash in the Donbass, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told the REGNUM news agency on March 6.

Zakharova recalled that the matter concerned some “witnesses” whose names the court had classified. This campaign with their alleged appearance its an aim to create the necessary public opinion.

“This is like a formula, we know that you did it, because we heard it from sources that we can’t disclose,” Zakharova said, explaining that the entire campaign is accusatory against Russia.

The purpose of these actions is to fill in the gaps in the investigation. On the whole the Russian Foreign Ministry qualifies each of the actions mentioned above “as a blatant attempt to pressure the court,” Zakharova said.

Earlier, the Dutch news program Nieuwsuur reported that 13 witnesses would speak anonymously at the MH17 trial.
