30.12.2019, Donetsk.

All those returned to the Donetsk People’s Republic during POW exchange on December 29 had been tortured, the Ombudswoman on the Republic Daria Morozova said, Donetsk News Agency reports.

According to the Ombudswoman, she asked all the released prisoners the day they returned to the republic whether they had been tortured.

“None of them denied that they had been subject to illegal interrogation methods. Thus, these people confirmed that they had been tortured,” the Ombudswoman stressed.

As the Rossa Primavera News Agency previously reported, four Donetsk citizens whom Ukraine released to the Donbass republics after detention in Kiev told Russian media that they had been tortured. A representative of the Lugansk People Republic Rodion Miroshnik confirmed that prisoners in Ukraine are systematically tortured.
