31.10.2019, Tehran.

Intelligence services of Western countries and Israel are inciting the protests in Lebanon and Iraq with the financial support from Middle Eastern countries, the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on October 30, Mehr News Agency reported.

“The intelligence services of the USA, other western countries, and Israel instigate riots and incite hostility within the nations with the financial support from some reactionary regional countries,” the Ayatollah stated during the graduation ceremony for military cadets in Tehran.

He acknowledged that the protesters in Lebanon and Iraq “make justified demands,” but he advised the protesters to seek their fulfillment in a lawful manner.

“The disruption of a country’s security is the largest detriment that the enemy can inflict on a country,” Khamenei stressed. He urged Lebanese and Iraqi citizens to think about the security of their countries first and foremost.

Riots swept across Iraq and Lebanon during the past several weeks. The protesters blocked main roads; banks and schools are closed. The Prime Minister of the country resigned as a result of the protests.

In Iraq, riots have spread throughout the country. The protests often deteriorate into violent clashes with the police. During the past weeks, hundreds of people have died, and thousands have been injured.
