Kurginyan: Ukrainian elections are Russia’s political triumph

23.04.2019, Moscow.

The elections in Ukraine became a triumph for Russian policy and a defeat for the anti-Russian Ukraine, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on April 22 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.

All the constants of Poroshenko’s anti-Russian policy suffered a terrible defeat. “This happened thanks to the heroic efforts of Donbass, for which we bow down in eternal gratitude,” said Kurginyan. Donbass’ struggle broke Poroshenko’s back, believes the political scientist.

“The triumph we are witnessing happened due to Russia taking a certain position on this issue,” added Sergey Kurginyan.

According to the latest data from the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky won the presidential elections in Ukraine. He received more than 73% of the vote.
