Painter Leonid Galkin’s exhibition coincides with “Rodina” chorus’ performance

The exhibition by Leonid Galkin, a painter from the city of Nizhny Novgorod, took place on January 26 in the Bremen Civic Center, a Rossa Primavera News Agency correspondent reports. The event was organized with the support of Essence of Time movement.

The exhibition was timed to coincide with the anniversary concert of the Russian-German “Rodina” chorus, which has been managed over 15 years by choirmaster Vyacheslav Kravets. In accordance with its tradition, the chorus performed Russian, Byelorussian and Ukrainian winter songs. The German public also gave a warm reception to Soviet songs in a new arrangement. At the end of the concert, the audience would not let artists go asking them to give an encore performance.

Following the concert, the public and artists were invited to see and to discuss Leonid Galkin’s paintings. The majority of guests showed a keen interest in the exhibition, and they observed the works of art for an extended period of time. Many of them shared their positive impressions with the organizers and signed the guest book thanking them for the opportunity to see the painter’s remarkable works.

Leonid Galkin’s paintings were exhibited in January 2018 in a Bremen school within the Russian Culture Week.

The artist’s paintings from the historic and literature cycles combined under one title “Russia — Great Civilization” were exhibited in Berlin in 2017. The paintings’ plots, which reflect historic battles as well as ordinary life, and they tell about the Russian messianic worldview.
