Expert: The UN’s sustainable development concept offers no solution

20.06.2018, Saint Petersburg.

The sustainable development concept that the UN has adopted identifies the problem without proposing an adequate solution, the Chairman of the Presidium of the Russian Cosmic Society Aleksey Gaponov said on June 19 in an interview to a correspondent of the Rossa Primavera News Agency.

Aleksey Gaponov noted that in the middle of the 20th century the Western elites realized that humanity had reached an exponential growth of its population as well as consumption of the planet’s resources. They reached an understanding that this was a way to collapse.

A mechanism of population regulation and planning was then launched, “Controlled chaos, a sequence of wars, perversions ― this was launched as a solution to the problem, and they presented it as a sustainable development concept. However, this was definitely not a solution to the problem, and this approach is also catastrophic to the world. In other words, they identified the problem, but found no adequate solution.”

According to the expert, the solution to the problem lies in the Russian cosmist doctrine as well as in the sustainable development concept that Russian scientist Pobisk Kuznetsov developed. “The foundation of sustainable development, according to Pobisk Kuznetsov, is the understanding of natural laws and their application to the control of sociotechnical systems, i.e. for designing social management.”

The Russian Cosmic Society was established on October 25, 2017. Its mission is to study, develop, and promote the scientific and philosophic basis of the Russian Cosmism doctrine as well as to learn and use breakthrough ideas and projects that members of the Russian scientific tradition propose.
