05.04.2018, Afrin.

Militants of the al-Jaysh al-Ḥurr terrorist group (organization banned in Russia) are killing people and taking hostages in the vicinity of the Syrian city of Afrin, a staff correspondent of the Rossa Primavera Information Agency reported on April 4.

According to the source, the violence is taking place near Afrin as well as in the city itself.

On March 18 this year, media reported that the so called Free Syrian Army began an offensive towards Afrin, which involved units of the Turkish army taking part in Operation Olive Branch.

In late January 2018, Turkey began Operation Olive Branch, which entails an offensive against Kurdish groups. Turkey is also shelling Afrin. The municipal authorities have called upon international organizations, including the UN, to make Turkey stop its artillery shelling and bombing, which have killed tens and injured hundreds of civilians.
