Russian representative to OSCE: several European states rehabilitate Nazism

The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the OSCE, Alexander Lukashevich, in the OSCE Headquarters remarked on facts of Nazism being rehabilitated in European countries, the official Russian OSCE mission’s Twitter page reports.

The report emphasizes concern over the situation in Ukraine, where organizations involved in crimes against humanity during the World War II are glorified, “We are concerned by the situation in #Ukraine, where the Organization of Ukrainian Nationals & the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, which committed mass & cruel murders of Jews & other nationalities, are raising their banners.”

On February 1, the Russian Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich spoke at a session of the OSCE Permanent Council. Previously, the Permanent Representative said that it was a nation-wide goal to preserve the memory of the victory over Nazism and the decisive contribution of the Soviet Union to this victory. Lukashevich emphasized that January 27 was the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in the Polish city of Oświęcim by the Soviet army.

It was also stressed that in 2017, only the USA and Ukraine voted against the UN General Assembly resolution to ban the glorification of Nazism.
