Jordanian intelligence reveals militant cell planning terrorist attacks

An ISIL (organization banned in Russia) cell planning a series of terrorist attacks was neutralized by the Jordanian intelligence on January 8, the Al Hadath channel reported.

According to the channel, the militants were planning attacks against Jordanian military, trade centers, and religious centers. In total, 17 terrorists were detained.

ISIL (organization banned in Russia), after it was almost completely defeated on the territories of Syria and Iraq, moved its activity to the territories of the adjacent states, including Jordan.

At the same time, on December 27, 2017, the Russian General Staff reported that at the US military base in the Syrian Al Tanf (55 km away from the borders of Syria, Iraq, and Jordan), militants of this terrorist organization were trained, “According to space surveillance and other kinds of intelligence, units of militants are present at the base. In fact, they are being trained there”.
