Iran claims eliminating sleeper terrorist cells

Sleeper ISIL (organization banned in Russia) cells were eliminated in the course of law enforcement raids conducted in a number of Iranian provinces, including those of Tehran, Kurdistan, Azerbaijan, Bushehr, Kermanshah, and Alborz provinces. Sixty two suspected members of the terrorist group were detained. New suspects continue to be revealed during the investigation.Iran stepped-up law enforcement efforts in fighting ISIL (organization banned in Russia) occurred after large terrorist acts. Terrorists simultaneously attacked Iranian parliament and a tomb of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini on Wednesday, June 7. Sixteen people died and more than three dozen people were wounded as a result of the terrorist attacks.

Syrian and Russian military launches new operation in Syria

With the support of the Marine Corps of the Russian Navy, the 5th and 11th Armored Division of the Syrian troops attacked the positions of the ISIL terrorist group (organization banned in Russia) near the village of Al-Bargusiye. Helicopters of the Russia’s Aerospace Force together with the Syrian military forced the terrorists to leave the village.

The Syrian government army is conducting an offensive in several directions. In addition to the offensive in the Hama area, President al-Assad’s troops are fighting in the Palmyra area, liberating settlements in the Aleppo area and participating in the encirclement of Raqqa.

DPR: Ukrainian army is provoking combat on the Yasinovataya and Donetsk outskirts

On the Gorlovka direction, the Ukrainian army shelled the village of Zaytsevo and the northern outskirts of the city.

The situation remains tense on the Donetsk and Yasinovataya parts of the front. The Ukrainian troops are provoking trench combat in the area of the “Yasinovataya” checkpoint and near the villages of Spartak and Trudovskiye. The area of the former Donetsk airport, the Kuybyshevsky and Kievsky districts of Donetsk came under the Ukrainian army’s artillery fire. The Ukrainian military used tanks, heavy artillery, 120mm mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. Ukrainian reconnaissance drones were noted near Yasinovataya.
