According to the LPR People’s Militia press service, as of February 15th, the Ukrainian army’s artillery shelled the positions of the Lugansk People’s Republic People’s Militia (LPR PM) 8 times during the past day, RIA Novosti news agency informed.
LPR PM noted violations of ceasefire in the area of Logvinovo, Pervomaysk, Frunze, Kalinovo. The area of LPR PM defensive positions came under attack by 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms.
Recall that the situation in the zone of the so-called “anti-terrorist operation” (the way Kiev junta refers to its punitive operation) escalated last January when the Ukrainian army’s artillery significantly intensified the shelling of the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. As a result, houses of peaceful residents, industrial buildings, and infrastructure of the towns and villages of Donbass were damaged. The Ukrainian army attempted to break through the positions of the Armed Forces of the Republics.
Though the Kiev authorities accuse the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics Armed Forces of escalating the situation, politicians in Europe and the U.S. hold Kiev responsible for intensifying the level of military confrontation along the contact line in Donbass. According to the OSCE mission data, it is the Ukrainian military who are trying to shift the front line deep into the territories of the Republics.
