Ukrainian army continues to shell towns and villages of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) with heavy artillery, a source in the DPR People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on February 14th.
During the day, the Ukrainian army was shelling the northern and south-western suburbs of Gorlovka. Trench combat of high intensity using mortars and small arms are underway in the area of the village of Zaytsevo.
The Ukrainian army shelled the northern suburbs of Donetsk with 152mm mortars that caused a powerful explosion at the territory of Donetsk Chemical Plant. The blast wave was felt in the different parts of the city. One civilian reported killed. Furthermore, suburbs of Yasinovataya and of the village of Spartak were shelled. Combat continues in Avdeevka industrial zone.
On February 14th, the servicemen of DPR PM repelled another [Ukrainian military’s] attempt to break the front along the Mariupol direction. Ukrainian military, represented by the units of the National Guard of Ukraine and Azov regiment, attacked the DPR positions near the village of Kominternovo. Ukrainian military lost 5 soldiers killed and 3 injured as a result of this attack.
According to DPR PM Command, one serviceman of the Republic was killed during the past day.
DPR PM intelligence reported new violations of the Minsk Agreements by the Ukrainian side, which continues to redeploy the heavy artillery to the contact line. Up to a battery of 152mm “Giatsint-B” mortars were uncovered in the area of the village of Yasnobrodovka. There is information on the arrival of a tank platoon and 13 trucks with ammunition and fuel in Avdeevka. There is also information on the location of a battery of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery near Zhelannoye-Vtoroye, of 2 batteries of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery near Krasnogorovka, of a battery of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery in Galitsinovka.
According to updated information, during the past day, February 13th, the Ukrainian army shelled the front-line territories of the Republic 1,024 times. Ukrainian military fired 41 152mm and 122mm artillery shells, 43 tank shells, 317 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds. Moreover, infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers, and small arms were used.
