The Ukrainian army is increasing the number of its military hardware and artillery in the zone of conflict in Donbass; the situation is deteriorating.
On the Gorlovka direction, the Ukrainian army shelled the northern and north-western suburbs of the city, including the village of Zaytsevo.
On the Donetsk direction, combat erupted in the area of the “Yasinovataya” checkpoint and Avdeevka industrial zone. The Ukrainian military is actively utilizing heavy artillery, tanks, mortars, infantry fighting vehicles, and small arms.
On the Mariupol direction, Ukrainian artillery shelled the villages of Kominternovo, Dzerzhinskoye, Leninskoye, and Sakhanka. There is no information on destruction and victims.
Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) intelligence uncovered the location of a battery of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery near the village of Aleksandropol. On the Donetsk direction, Ukrainian Command has reinforced the 72nd Independent Mechanized Brigade, stationed in Avdeevka, be redeploying units of the 30th Independent Mechanized Brigade and 25th Independent Airborne Brigade.
According to DPR PM intelligence, the Ukrainian side is preparing a provocation. Ukrainian Command has given an order to shell the city of Mariupol with artillery. The aim of this provocation is to accuse DPR PM in the deaths of civilians and undermining of the Minsk Agreements. The situation could also be used as a pretext for large-scale hostilities.
According to updated information, on February 5th, the Ukrainian military shelled DPR territory in the vicinity of the front 1,229 times. Ukrainian forces, in violation of the Minsk Agreements, fired 108 152mm and 122mm artillery shells, 435 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds. Infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, and small arms were also used.
