The situation on all parts of the frontline remains tense. Ukrainian army continues to shell the positions of People’s Militia and towns and villages of Donetsk People’s Republic by artillery guns.
Zaytsevo village was shelled by Ukrainian mortars during the night. No casualties or destruction was registered. The enemy shelled Aleksandrovka village south-west of Donetsk. After 19:00 the shelling of Yasinovataya checkpoint started, Ukrainian army is firing mortars, grenade launchers and small arms.
DPR recon discovered the positions of six 120mm mortars of the enemy near Mayorsk north of Gorlovka.
According to updated information, on October 8 Ukrainian army shelled the frontline areas of the Republic 252 times, 136 times artillery was used. Outskirts of Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Vasilievka and Aleksandrovka west of Donetsk, Leninskoye and Sakhanka in the south of DPR were shelled. Two civilians received shrapnel wounds. At least 18 houses were damaged. Two servicemen of the Republic were killed, one was captured by Ukrainian saboteurs as a result of an attack on the positions of People’s Militia in the area of Sakhanka. The bodies of killed soldiers were booby trapped by the enemy.
