Last night Zaytsevo village near Gorlovka, industrial zone near Avdeevka, Staromikhaylovka, as well as Kuibyshevsky, Kirovsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk, Staromarievka, Novaya Marievka and Sakhanka villages in the south of Donetsk People’s Republic came under Ukrainian army fire.
As a result of night shelling of Zaytsevo village in the north of Gorlovka seven houses were damaged. The damage to facades, glass windows and roofs was registered.
43 artillery shells were fired at the industrial zone in Yasinovataya area after midnight from Ukrainian army positions near Avdeevka.
Two houses on Karnavalnaya and Maksimilianovskaya streets in Petrovsky district of Donetsk were damaged by direct hits in the roofs. Another 5 houses were damaged in Kirovsky and Kuibyshevsky districts of the city. The territory of the nursing home for the elderly came under Ukrainian army shelling in Biriuzova village in Kirovsky district of Donetsk. Gas pipelines were damaged by shell shrapnel on Deputatskaya, Aleksinskaya and Avetsenny streets. There are no human casualties.
Staromarievka and Novaya Marievka villages in Telmanovsky region were shelled by artillery and “Grad” multiple launch rocket system. A house in Novaya Marievka is destroyed by a direct hit. 20 152mm artillery shells were fired at both villages.
DPR reconnaissance notes the work of recon drones of the enemy along all of the contact lines. These drones are used by Ukraine to spot the targets for artillery shelling of the Republic.
According to updated information, Ukrainian punitive forces fired 698 shells at frontline territories of DPR on August 16, out of which 630 were artillery shells and rockets. DPR serviceman was injured as a result of the shelling of positions.
