DPR MPs donate personal hygiene products to specialized orphanage in Makeevka

18.08.2016, Makeevka.

On August 17, specialized Republican orphanage for children with HIV in Makeevka received humanitarian aid from the Members of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Parliament (MPs). The Parliament Members Ekaterina Martianova (faction ‘Donetsk Republic’) and Elena Melnik (faction ‘Free Donbass’) donated basic personal hygiene products and sweets.

The orphanage is situated in Makeevka. To date, 65 children between the ages of 1 month and 6 years are living here under medical supervision. These children have congenital HIV infection.

We want the people of the Republic to see that there is no difference between these children and our own, and that these children have the right to life,” Martyanova said. “I believe that the society must support them. This is our idea, and our joint work is aimed at drawing attention of the people, who are not indifferent to the problems.

Diapers, baby shampoos, creams, and confectionery were handed over as part of humanitarian aid. The orphanage is the third institution, which is supported by the Members of the Parliament within their project.

I think, we are on the right track,” the MP Melnik said, in turn. “We are constantly revealing new concerns and needs. We shall continue our campaign, and we shall help to orphanages and other important public institutions.

According to the management of the medical institution, it is equipped with all the necessary equipment for  medical treatment, such as medical ultrasound equipment, dental, physiotherapeutic, and diagnostic units.

On the whole, we are also provided with all the necessary medicines. Yes, we do not have enough of some medicine, but we always get help from the citizens of the Republic and Russia,” the Deputy Chief Physician Lyudmila Batekhina said.

The MPs provided Donetsk City Hospital No 9 in Proletarsky district with more than a ton of construction materials for building a new intensive care unit. In July, MPs provided the Donetsk children’s hospital No 6 in Leninsky district of Donetsk with reagents for complete blood count analyzing machine.
