A group of Donetsk People’s Republic residents, representing various left-wing forces, held a small rally near the monument to Vladimir Lenin and laid flowers at its foot, “Essence of Time” Informational Center reports on April 22. The people celebrated the 146th birthday of the first leader of the Soviet state.
The rally was held under red banners, the people who spoke during the rally talked about the large role Vladimir Lenin played in saving Russia, about the triumph of the ideals of the October revolution.
A total of 50 people, including “Essence of Time” mission in Donbass members, participated in the rally. After the rally the participants laid flowers at the foot of the monument.
Almost all monuments to Lenin on the territory of Ukraine, which earlier stood in every city, town and village, were demolished and destroyed after the fascist coup of 2014. The only monuments to survive are in the part of the country that became Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
