On the night of March 24th, the residential areas of Makeevka were shelled. Houses, power lines, gas pipelines were damaged, and four residents were injured in Krasnogvardeysky and Kirovsky districts. “Essence of Time” together with ‘Texas’ (Russell Bentley), visited the place of the incident to find out more.

Eyewitnesses said that around 1 a.m. four explosions were heard near Urojaynaya street. All the mortar shells exploded not far from a gas boiler station, which probably was the target of the enemy’s shelling. Presumably, the fire was open from 120mm mortars. One mortar shell hit the building of the temporarily closed kindergarten on Tupolev street. Other shells exploded near the houses. One could see broken windows; shrapnel riddled the walls. One resident of house number 39 on Urojaynaya street was wounded. He stood at the window during the explosion, and a finger on his right hand was severed. Neighbors speaking about the incident could not hold back tears, cursing Poroshenko and the whole junta, who unleashed a war against the people of Donbass.
