Ukrainian sniper shoots a serviceman of the LPR People's Militia

The Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire on the front line in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) four times over the day, the LPR representative to the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) said on April 13.

The representative said that JCCCC observers reported that the enemy opened the fire on Zolotoye-5 village on April 12. The fire came from the direction of Zolotoye-4 village occupied by Ukraine. The Ukrainian military from the 92nd brigade of the Ukrainian army opened fire at 12.45 a.m., 3.30 a.m. and 4.40 a.m. (Moscow time zone) using an AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher and small arms.

The representative stressed that as a result of one of the ceasefire violations, a Ukrainian sniper shot an LPR People’s Militia serviceman at a combat position near Zolotoye-5 village.

The observers noted that at 4.45 a.m. (Moscow time zone), Molodezhnoye village came under fire of the same 92nd brigade of the Ukrainian army. The fire came from the direction of occupied Katerinovka village. The enemy used SPG-9 recoilless gun.

The representative stressed that the Ukrainian military fired a total of 29 rounds of ammunition with a caliber larger than 12.7 mm on the territory of the republic during the day. There is no information about the destruction of infrastructure and residential buildings.

On April 11, the JCCCC observers noted observance of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian military. On April 10, the Ukrainian army shelled the LPR villages and towns four times, Zolotoye-5 village came under fire three times.

The Ukrainian military regularly intensify the shelling prior to the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk. The next meeting was scheduled for April 13 and 14.
