04.11.2020, Yerevan.

The order to massacre all Armenians is given to the terrorists from Syria who are going to fight in Nagorno-Karabakh on Azerbaijan’s side, the captured Syrian militant said during interrogation in the Armenian Investigative Committee published on November 4.

The Armenian Investigative Committee published the full version of the interrogation of the second Syrian terrorist who was captured in Karabakh. Citizen of Syria Yousef Alabeth al-Hajji, born in 1988, an Arab by nationality, living in the village of Al-Ziyadyeh of Jisr al-Shughur district of Idlib province, told about the details of recruitment and further transfer of terrorists to Azerbaijan.

The militant said that the organizers offered him a salary of $2,000 per month for his participation in hostilities in Karabakh. Before being sent to Azerbaijan, all the recruits were warned that there would be no turning back, and no documents were required.

A total of about 500 people aged 20 to 40 were selected, al-Hajji said. Militants were brought to Azerbaijan by civil planes through Turkey on October 18. Upon mercenaries’ arrival to Azerbaijan, the servicemen of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey met them, the militants were given uniforms and weapons, and the Azerbaijani and Turkish servicemen conducted combat training course.

The militant also said that a month before his group had been sent to Karabakh, another group of about 500 people had been sent there.

According to the prisoner of war, the leader of the group from Syria was Abu Hamza, who was responsible for the mercenaries who had arrived in Azerbaijan. “He told us not to feel sorry for anyone, he said we had to massacre and kill all Armenians. Turkish and Azerbaijani servicemen also gave similar orders,” the captive militant said.

According to the terrorist, they were promised 100 US dollars for the severed head of an Armenian and even gave them long knives for that. “For those of us who were afraid, the Azerbaijani servicemen gave special drugs and if someone drank them, he had no fear anymore,” he said.

On the seventh day after the arrival, the militants consisting of 150 people began to attack one of the Armenian villages, and they were ordered to capture the Armenian village and massacre all the civilians and servicemen there.

He mentioned that during the violent repulse of the Armenian attack, he was wounded and left by his fellow combatants, 5 days later he surrendered. He admitted that the decision to go to war against the Armenians was wrong. According to him, after he was wounded, the Armenians treated him humanely by giving him to eat and drink food and drink and healing him. He urged his fellow countrymen not to fight against Armenians and Armenia for any money.
