The Ukrainian army launched 320 various shells in the past 24 hours against the front-line villages of the Donetsk People’s Republic, in addition to small arms fire, the DPR Ministry of Defense web site reported on March 29.
The current ceasefire, which went into effect at 1 AM Moscow time, March 5, 2018, was violated by the Ukrainian side in 13 locations. The shelling was the most intensive in the Gorlovka, Donetsk, and Mariupol directions. The following towns and villages were shelled by the Ukrainian army: Shirokaya Balka, Dolomitnoe, Zheleznaya Balka, Ozeryanovka, Spartak, Donetsk (Volvo Center), Dokuchaevsk, Sokhanka, Sosnovskoe.
The shelling reportedly intensified the day before, when, despite the arrival of the Deputy Chief of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Alexander Hug on March 27, the DPR territory was shelled 12 times using 293 shells.
