Kurginyan: The regime of “ethnically conscientious” Ukrainians is not viable

02.03.2018, Moscow.

Essence of Time movement leader Sergey Kurginyan said that the regime of “ethnically conscientious” Ukrainians in Ukraine is not viable [in reference to the Bandera Nazi theory that not all Ukrainians are equal, and that so-called “ethnically conscientious” Ukrainians are superior to, and deserve, to be the masters of other “non-conscientious” or “Moskalized” Ukrainians – translator’s note] while speaking on the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov television program on channel Russia-1, on February 28.

The political scientist compared the situation in Ukraine to the situation in South Vietnam during the Vietnam war. “The Americans in South Vietnam were desperate to their satellite regime to exist. But it could not exist,” Kurginyan said. “You know, the Americans are not omnipotent. In Vietnam, everything was decaying to such a degree, that they could do nothing.”

Even American boots on the ground could not save the situation, the political analyst reminded. “In contrast to us [the USSR – Rossa Primavera note] they provided military presence there, but they did not achieve anything there. Why? Because it is a weak, pitiful, and senseless elite,” he explained.

Taking into account the policy of the current Ukrainian leaders toward southeastern regions, the only way to create a viable state is in the form of a federation or confederation, Kurginyan stressed.

The war in Vietnam, which lasted effectively from 1959, was accompanied by a direct US intervention from 1964 to 1975. During this war, the Soviet Union supported North Vietnam and the United States supported the Saigon regime in South Vietnam. In 1975 the war ended with the victory of North Vietnam uniting the northern socialist and the southern capitalist Vietnam, establishing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
