Czech Foreign Ministry considers fundraising to help the children of the Donbass Republics inexpedient, Czech journalist, chairman of the NGO Society of Friends of the DPR and the LPR” Jaromir Vasek said to the Lugansk Information Center (LIC) on January 4th.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic rejected public fundraising for schoolchildren from the DPR and the LPR, which our Society of Friends of the DPR and the LPR wanted to organize,” the journalist said.
He stressed that the Czech officials consider collection of funds inexpedient “from the point of view of foreign policy”.
In Spring 2016, the Society of Friends of the LPR and the DPR non-governmental organization was established by the Czech activists. The organization is aimed at uniting people in the Czech Republic willing to listen to an alternative opinion regarding the Donbass, differing from the information being broadcasted by the Czech media. In June 2017, the members of the Society of Friends of the LPR and the DPR submitted a petition, asking the government of the Czech Republic to stop cooperation with Kiev. The members of the organization displayed a photo exhibition in different cities of the Czech Republic on the situation in Donbass.
