Over 100 terrorists killed during blockade breach in Deir er-Zor

During the day, more than 100 Islamists were killed when Syrian army was breaking the siege of Deir ez-Zor in Syria, TASS reports on September 5 citing Al Mayadeen TV News Network.

Syrian government forces and militiamen are advancing to break the siege. Mohammed Ibrahim Samra, the governor of the eastern province, stated that most of the terrorists were destroyed by Syrian and Russian aviation.

On September 4, the Syrian army captured the area of Al-Majbil west of Deir ez-Zor and recaptured the settlements of Al-Shula and Kabajib, located 22 km away from a traffic circle at the entrance to the city, from the militants. The terrorists’ positions on Es-Sarda mountain at the approaches to the city are under fire.

Deir ez-Zor is a city in the northeast of Syria, which has been besieged by militants for 3 years. Terrorists captured and held the eastern part of the city. Communication with the besieged city was carried out by air. On September 4, the breaking the siege of the city by the Syrian army was reported.
