The Ukrainian army decreased the intensity of the shelling of Donetsk People’s Republic’s territory, but the situation at the front line remains tense, a source in Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on March 8th.
During the day, the Ukrainian army was shelling the village of Zaytsevo in the north of Gorlovka and Nikitovsky district of the city. 3 houses were damaged by artillery fire. By the evening, the enemy intensified the shelling.
The intensity of shelling along the Donetsk direction has decreased but the Ukrainian side continues to provoke trench combat in the area of Avdeevka industrial zone. The suburbs of Yasinovataya and the northern boundaries of Donetsk came under Ukrainian army’s fire.
The situation is tense along the Mariupol direction. In the night, the Ukrainian army shelled the villages of Kominternovo and Sakhanka. Gas pipelines supplying gas toMariupol and 155 houses of the village of Kominternovo were damaged.
According to DPR PM intelligence, Ukrainian army deployed a battery of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery vehicles in the area of Novomikhaylovka thus grossly violating the Minsk agreements on withdrawal of heavy weaponry.
During the past day, March 8th, the Ukrainian army fired approximately 400 shells at the DPR territory. 17 towns and villages, mostly situated along the Donetsk direction of the front, came under Ukrainian military’s fire.
