The situation remains tense and is escalating. Shellings of towns and villages of the Republic from the Ukrainian side don’t cease. Ukrainian army made another attempt to breach the frontline in the area of Leninskoye village in the south of Donetsk People’s Republic.
By the evening Ukrainian army renewed the shelling of north-western and south-western outskirts of Gorlovka. The enemy fires artillery guns, grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. Trench combat takes place in the area of Zaytsevo.
Yasinovataya, Verkhnetoretskoye and Spartak villages, the area of Donetsk airport, Staromikhailovka, Aleksandrovka and Trudovskie villages in the west of Donetsk were shelled by 82mm and 120mm Ukrainian army mortars. Residential buildings were destroyed.
Dokuchaevsk and its outskirts were shelled. Artillery, IFVs, grenade launchers and small arms were fired.
Mariupol direction remains heated. In the morning the enemy made yet another attempt to breach the frontline in the area of Leninskoye village. The attack was repelled, the enemy suffered losses of up to 5 people dead and up to 10 wounded. According to DPR Operations Command information, one serviceman of the Republic was killed, three were injured. Another serviceman was injured on a different part of the front.
Heavy 152mm and 122mm artillery, as well as 120mm and 82mm Ukrainian mortars shelled Oktyabr, Leninskoye, Sakhanka and Bezymiannoye villages.
DPR recon discovered the location of Ukrainian tank and two trucks with ammunition near Shumy village (Gorlovka direction). During rotation in the area of Kodema village Ukraine servicemen fired at another Ukrainian unit members, having mistaken them for DPR militia members. Two “Gvozdika” self-propelled guns positions were registered near Starognatovka village.
According to updated information, on October 16 Ukrainian army violated the ceasefire 398 times, firing artillery 336 times at frontline areas of DPR. The enemy shelled Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Spartak, western outskirts of Donetsk and a number of villages in the south of the Republic.
