Russian Parliament: Terrorist attacks in Damascus a provocation of pro-Turkish forces

At least 80 people were killed and over 200 were injured in several terrorist explosions that rocked southern Damascus suburb on Sunday evening. Another 46 people were killed and 115 were injured in two terrorist attacks in Homs earlier today, RIA Novosti reports. According to the media, ISIL (Organization banned in Russia) took responsibility for the attacks.

The Sunday terrorist attacks in Syria are a provocation aimed at destabilizing the political settlement, UN Security Council must react, according to the Deputy Chairman of the International Committee of the State Duma (Russian Parliament) Aleksandr Romanovich. According to him, pro-Turkish forces which desire to destabilize the situation might be involved in these terrorist acts.

The UN Security Council must adopt a corresponding resolution on Syria, the MP claims. “Security Council is compelled to react to the address of the country, which, in essence, has suffered an attack,” the MP said.
