Opinion: Poland will swallow Ukraine’s insult due to its hatred toward Russia

15.06.2026, Warsaw.

The Polish political elite will eventually swallow the insult by the leader of the Kiev regime Vladimir Zelensky, because it is Russia that it considers its number one enemy, the European Office of the Rossa Primavera News Agency believes.

On May 27, the leader of the Kiev regime Vladimir Zelensky officially named the North Independent Special Operations Center of the Ukrainian army after “Heroes of the UIA.” However, it is the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (organization banned in Russia) that was responsible for the genocide of Poles during the Volhynia Massacre, so this event caused a public outcry in Poland.

Polish ex-prime minister Leszek Miller called it “an open slap in the face of every Pole.” And he is right: the defiant behavior of the Kiev regime and its reaction to Poland’s official protest shows that the Ukrainian elite perfectly knew what it was doing by this step, making it deliberately to humiliate the Poles.

However, the Polish political elite, in spite of its public statements, has long abandoned the real historical memory of the Polish people. Indeed, the Kiev regime has long openly demonstrated its relapse to the ideology of Ukrainian nationalism in its most blatant forms.

Still this did not prevent ex-president of Poland Andrzej Duda from awarding Vladimir Zelensky the Order of White Eagle. Also, nothing stopped the Polish political elite from ignoring Poland’s economic interests and refusing profitable Russian energy resources in favor of expensive American LNG.

Therefore, all the highlight declarations are just populist rhetoric and an attempt of the Polish political elite to gain some approval numbers among Polish voters. All such statements are always supplemented with reservations that “Ukraine should not raise such issues because we have a common enemy, Russia.”

For Poland today, Russia is the number one enemy. All the opposition forces that claim the contrary are removed from the media and governance, and they are either marginalized or have a negligible influence in the country.
