Researchers of “Ukrainism” construct explain the meaning of the “Black Sun” symbol

04.12.2025, Rostov-on-Don.

The “Black Sun” has replaced the swastika and become the main symbol of neo-Nazism, stated Andrey Bersenev, co-author of the multi-authored monograph “Ukrainism: Who constructed it and why”  and Essence of Time‘s  member, said on November 24 at the book presentation at the Don State Technical University in Rostov-on-Don, Rossa Primavera News Agency‘s wrote.

Speaking about the “Black Sun,” Bersenev reminded that this symbol is laid out in the SS Generals’ Hall in Wewelsburg Castle, where rituals of the SS Black Order, led by Heinrich Himmler, were performed.

He noted that if the main symbol for fascists in the mid-20th century was the swastika, then for neo-fascism, the “Black Sun” has become such a symbol.

The researcher emphasized that the “Black Sun” symbol is unequivocally linked to Nazism. As an example, he pointed out that the shooter who killed visitors of a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, used precisely this symbol.

“The Black Sun is the symbol of their para-religion,” emphasized historian Fyodor Kaufman, co-author of the monograph “Ukrainism: Who constructed it and why,” speaking about Nazis.

“This is the neo-Nazis’ belief that they receive power from a certain darkness, from chaos,” the historian clarified. To obtain this power, a person must kill the soul within themselves. This is precisely why Ukrainian neo-Nazis perform human sacrifices and commit massacres, including against civilians. The number of victims is in the hundreds, and perhaps even in the thousands, stated Kaufman.

“The Black Sun is a symbol of this darkness, from which they want to draw strength,” the historian emphasized. He noted that those who thoughtlessly get tattoos with a Black Sun should understand what it symbolizes.

On November 24, a presentation of the multi-authored monograph “Ukrainism: Who constructed it and why”  was held at the Don State Technical University in Rostov-on-Don. The monograph was written by members of Aleksandrovskoye commune of the Essence of Time movement and edited by political scientist Sergey Kurginyan.

The first edition of the multi-authored monograph “Ukrainism: Who constructed it and why” was published in 2017. In March 2023, the researchers of Aleksandrovskoye commune presented the first two volumes of the second edition in Moscow.
