Kurginyan: India will not join US-led anti-China coalition

24.08.2025, Moscow.

India will not confront China, especially under US’ pressure, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on August 8 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.

The US itself actively developed China as an ally in its confrontation with the USSR, the political scientist explained. This was a formula by US political scientist Henry Kissinger (former US Secretary of State) and ex-president Richard Nixon: number one power (US) plus number three power (China) against number two power (USSR).

“If the US, according to this formula, seeking to get rid of everything secondary and move production to a place with cheap and disciplined labor, and this is China, began to develop China and successfully developed it, and then they got frightened and decided to develop India against China, then good luck to them! Develop it to make it another China, then get frightened again, and then we will get to an agreement with them,” Sergey Kurginyan noted.

He stressed that whenever he talked to various Indian politicians including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, “I never heard anything that would even remotely resemble a violent anti-China rhetoric.”

The political scientist reminded that India often criticize Pakistan but not China.

“What do they want from us? To seek war against China? We do not want that. We can have some clashes or divide our areas of influence, one or another, and then find a way to settle our relations,” Sergey Kurginyan explained India’s position.

He stressed that the US’ policy is absolutely wrong when it believes that India “just like a slave” will integrate into the anti-China alliance the US is going to form.

“They have become absolutely arrogant! They could find a way to motivate the Indians, to flatter them a little or offer them something, to move some more production there, i.e. to make an Indian gravedigger for themselves after the Chinese one. And they would have reached something. But to say [to the Indian prime minister] Modi ‘Get down and fear me’ is something only an absolutely insane person can do. Or a person who decided to make India his enemy,” the political scientist explained.

US President Donald Trump will reach nothing using pressure against India, the political scientist explained. India with its thousand year history and culture will just patiently look at the US’ attempts to direct it against China.

“He [Trump] will not make India an enemy. [The Indians] will patiently look at everything as a civilization of five thousand years or even older depending whether Harappa is included in the Indian civilization… With an attitude as towards some white cockroaches making a mess again moving their whiskers…” the political scientist explained.
